Kayli and her cousins are always telling each other knock knock jokes. Of course none of them make any sense, and a lot of times they just start slurring their words together and then laugh thinking its hilarious. Tonight Kayli, Caiden, and I were on our way to Enrichment and Kayli wanted to play the knock knock game. We played back and forth a few times and then she realized that Caiden was mimicking us so she started playing with him. She would bust up laughing every time he said anything it was too cute! They went on for about 5 minutes telling jokes back and forth! It was adorable, I love my kids!

ZNOO!!
Pete had a rare day off yesterday and Kayli has been begging me to take her to the Znoo (z-new) to see HER animals. So after the gym and Preschool we headed out for an afternoon at the Zoo. I was hoping both kids would take a nap in the car on the way, but no luck so they were both a little sensitive (aka cranky), but we still had a lot of fun! It was the perfect day for the Zoo! The weather was nice and all of the animals were out in plain sight enjoying the 73 degree weather.
Caiden didnt want to ride in the stroller or be held, he just wanted to walk so we didnt see as much of the Zoo as we usually do, but we have passes so that was fine with me!
Looking at the Lions
Caiden was fascinated by EVERYTHING, especially all the wide open space. He just ran from place to place and checked everything out. Such a fun (and exhausting) age to watch them explore.
(The stroller was at least good for holding our stuff)
Kayli had a lot of fun pointing all of the animals out to Caiden and everyone else within ear shot. It is so cute to watch them interact! Pointing out the baboons!
They literally took of running as soon as I said “OK let’s go see what next”
Yup, he is a boy, climbs anywhere and everywhere and is really too good at it!
No Zoo trip is complete without a ride on the Carousel.
They both CRASHED hard once we got in the car!! It was a peaceful ride home!
Fun on the Farm!
Schnepf Farm is just about a mile from us and the Schnepf family is in our ward. Every year for the month of October they have a Pumpkin Party, with rides, food, face painting, pumpkin picking, petting zoo, freedom to run around the farm, etc… We went 2 years ago and had a blast. This year the Schnepf’s threw a party just for our ward and it was SOOO much FUN! They even fed us, and had some of the rides open and it didn’t cost us a penny! Pete had to work so I was hesitant to go, but Ali and her boys, Jena, and my Dad all came along. I am so glad we went, the food was soo good, they served the best Corn on the Cob I have EVER had! We all had a ton of fun, the kids didnt want to leave!
Waiting for the Train
On the Train
The Train ride was actually a little scary since the farm was mostly dark and the light on the front of the train wasn’t real bright. I was glad I had brought some flashlights for the kids! Here is Kayli’s scared/unsure face!
Then we rode the BumbleBees which go up and down and around and around! Talk about DIZZY!
Kayli rode the swings and I thought she was going to scream the whole time (she looked a little uncertain), but she LOVED it!
Then it was off to the roller coaster which I also thought was going to freak her out, but it didn’t!
Caiden was fascinated by the roller coaster. (They had a bright light on that was causing those funny dots on my camera)
Playing on the HUGE tunnel slide that goes underground at the end!
Thank You Schnepf’s Farm!!
Happy Halloween 2009!
Halloween was so much fun this year! It was the first year that Kayli understood the concept of dressing up and actually decided what she and Caiden would be! Last year everyone would say are you Jesse (from Toy Story) and she would look soo confused and shake her head No and tell them she was Kayli. This year, she really wanted to be Mickey Mouse and said that Caiden could be Minnie Mouse. Thankfully I was able to convince her that since Caiden is a boy he should be Mickey and she should be Minnie since Minnie is a girl. A few days before Halloween I found Kayli in Caiden’s costume and was worried I was going to have to rush out and find another Mickey costume, but she LOVED being Minnie too!
Our ward usually has a traditional Trunk or Treat, but I guess the building (parking lot) was already reserved on Friday night so we had to have a Saturday afternoon ward party. They did it carnival style and then told everyone to bring blankets and the kids trick or treated to our blankets. It was pretty fun, but weird to be trick or treating at like 4:30 under the sunshine!
Kayli had fun with the carnival games, but it was too much for Caiden he spent most the party asleep on Pete!
Here are Kayli and Kayla hanging out!
Kayli enjoying her first piece of candy, after her trick or treating blanket style!
After the trunk or treat we went home, while Kayli took a little cat nap and then headed over to a friend’s house. They live on a cul de sac and they blocked off the end of their street with cars so the kids could run around and have fun and be safe. We had a fire built in the middle of the street and everything! A lot of people from the ward came and it was tons of FUN! The kids had a blast! Kayli insisted on trick or treating to some houses, so we took her up and down their street and then she was done! Here we all are hanging out the block party!
It was a busy but fun day!!
Of course there are always MORE pictures here!
Sacrament
So my kids say the darndest things and Im soo horrible about writing them down, so here is an out of the mouth of Kayli moment today in church during sacrament.
Kayli: “Mom I really want to go sit with my Princess (Aunt Jena)” (we usually sit all together, but we were late today)
Me: “After sacrament you can”
Kayli after taking the bread: “OK Mom now I need to see my Princess”
Me: “Kayli sacrament isnt over until after we take the bread AND the water”
Kayli after taking the water: “OK Mom now?”
Me: “Not until sacrament is all done and the boys in the white shirts sit down”
Kayli: “Oh yeah Mom, but first they have to hide the bread and the water!!”
It totally took me a minute to get what she was talking about it, but once I did I couldnt stop chuckling! Kids are too funny!!
(For those that arent familiar with the sacrament at LDS churches, the bread and water trays are placed on the sacrament table and are covered in a white tablecloth before and after the sacrament portion of our service.)
Pumpkin Painting
For Preschool last week the kids painted some little pumpkins. I tell you, give a 3 year old some paint and a paint brush and they are in heaven! They must have painted those little pumpkins for close to an hour, they were having too much fun to stop!
And just because Kayli’s face is hilarious in this one! She got paint on her chin when posing for the picture. LOL
Pumpkin Patch
A couple of weeks before Halloween we took the kids out to a local farm to pick pumpkins, try out the corn maze, and some of the other activities they had. It was a lot of fun and was nice to do something as a family since Pete has been working so much and we dont get a lot of quality time together. The kids had fun, well except for the corn maze part. They were really excited to go in, we bought them each their own kid sized flashlight since we were heading into the maze just before it got dark. Well they all got pretty freaked out once it got dark so we headed out, which was no simple task!
Here is Kayli once she was scared and refusing to walk. So she ended up on Dad’s shoulders!
Caiden on the other hand took advantage of the dark and took a lil nap!
They had a barrel train that all of the kids loved, it was some silly barrel cars pulled by a small tractor around the farm in circles, simple pleasures right?
We also spent some time on the playground, and in the bouncer and then of course picked out some pumpkins. Which unfortunately never got carved, so Im going to cook them and make some yummy pumpkin bread and cake with the fresh pumpkin!!
Caiden LOVED milking this cow, I didnt want to cram into the barrel car and ride with him, so Kayli got his ticket and we milked the cow while she rode in the barrel. Kayli took her turn too. It was pretty cool there was actually water that came out when you milked the cow correctly.
There are LOTS more pictures HERE, I know you are dying to see more!!
