You better watch out, Pete is coming for you! (well not really, but I think he would really like to)
Today my sister and I took the kids to Chick-fil-A after we went to the gym. They were having a blast, playing in the tunnel and coming down the slide when disaster struck! We had been there a while when TJ (5) came out to tell Ali and I that both Kayli and Eli were up in white car crying! Before we made it into the playroom they both came flying down the slide. Eli, who is 3, was balling and Kayli was totally butt hurt and I could tell she had been crying. She came right over and sat across from me on the bench. I asked her what happened and she said “That big boy (pointing towards the play area) smacked me in the face up in the car.” I asked her which boy and she pointed to a different kid, Eli was also pointing to different kids so we really had no idea who was the culprit. But Im convinced it was one of the older boys 9 or 10 years old that were too big to be playing in there anyways. They were smart enough to wait until they were out of parental sight to beat up our little kids, thinking that they wouldn’t tell us. We cleaned up and left since the kids were done!
On the way home I was talking to Kayli about what happened and she told me that the boy wouldn’t let them go down the slide and he smacked her in the face when she was in the car and then kicked her leg in the airplane. I asked her what she said to him and she said “Mom, I told him No Thanks and he ‘macked (smacked) me again so I pushed him down and said come on Eli and came down the slide to get help.” I must admit I was one proud Mom in that moment! She had figured there was no other way out since the play area is its own closed off space and although we were in eye sight just outside the glass we couldnt hear them crying! I realize she probably couldn’t push down a 9 or 10 year old, but she obviously sent him a message! I dont think Kayli will want to play there for a while!
I really want to know why the parents of these older kids who obviously exceed the play area rules in height and age allow them to play in there with small children? The rules are there for a GOOD reason!
