Zoo Fun

Thursday Pete didn’t have any jobs so we threw lunches and a few other things together and took a trip to the Zoo. It was our first trip to the Phoenix Zoo and we were pleasantly surprised. It is really nice and HUGE! Plus it was a beautiful day. We only stayed for a few hours so we didn’t get to see everything, but we bought a year pass so we will go back! Caiden didn’t know what to think of everything and really just wanted to get down and crawl around, so that was a little hard, but he is close to walking so maybe the next trip will be more fun for him. Kayli of course LOVED it! She passed out as we were making our way over to the tiger and lions, so we decided it was time to leave and beat rush hour traffic!

En route

Let’s GO!

Giraffes

She kept ducking because she thought I couldn’t see the Zebras and she wanted to make sure they were in the picture too…silly girl!

Flamingos

Kayli loved that these birds and ducks would get so close. She was jumping around like crazy trying to scare them away. She thought it was funny that they would run away and then come right back!

Her favorite stop of the day. They were really cute, the baby was nursing when we got there and then he got down and was playing, actually it seemed he was showing off, Kayli was busting up laughing at him.

Pete and Kayli disappeared for a bit while I fed Caiden some baby food he hated and boy did they have some fun!

Hmm…Where is my next victim?

Kayli’s Birthday Party

Kayli is in love with horses, so she of course needed to have a horsie birthday party! Since the weather is unpredictable in January we decided to wait until March to have the party. The Reeds (members of our ward) own a small “ranch” with horses and a few cows and Kayli loves it there. They were kind enough to let us have Kayli’s party there and even took the kids on pony rides…as many times as they wanted! :)

We BBQed hot dogs and hamburgers, went for pony rides and then beat up the AWESOME horse pinata that my sister worked all week making! THANKS Ali! It was a BLAST!

Kayli in her adorable horse outfit that Aunt Ali made, hanging out with the horse pinata. This is right before we headed over to the ranch, she was soo excited for her party…

Kayli rode the pony too many times to count!

Caiden even got to sit up on the pony, although I dont think he liked it much, he just wanted off!

The pinata was a HIT! Everyone got a few turns before it was candy, candy everywhere! Kayli took her 3 hits the first time around, but by the time it was her turn again one of the legs was falling off and she was too busy being concerned about the horse to take another turn. I was worried she was really going to be upset when the whole thing busted open, but thankfully she was as excited as everyone else and dove in to fill her bag.

Kayli keeps asking me to make her another horse cake.

The party was a lot of fun, thanks everyone for coming and celebrating with Kayli! Oh and I cant thank my sister, Ali enough for all of her help. I failed to snap pictures of them, but in addition to Kayli’s outift and the pinata, she also made “goodie bags” for everyone out of adorable horse fabric.

Something New Everyday…

Today I was feeding Caiden some Oatmeal (the real stuff, no more baby business, but that is another blog) and I said “Hi Caiden” He raised his hand up like he has been doing for the last month or so, but then surprised me by opening and closing his hand to wave! My little boy is growing up so fast. Here is a video of him waving. It took him a little while, he is in love with the camera so that was distracting him, but eventually he did give me a little something to record, so just enjoy his cuteness and babbling while you wait for it. Ill try to get a better one later!

Remember Us?

We’re back! We were seriously defeated by the computer worm and had to buy a new computer! So new computer bought, set up (ok that part took only a matter of seconds…it is a MAC after all) and now Im learning to use it!

I have TONS of updating to do…Kayli had a birthday, then she had a birthday party, Caiden is almost walking, and lets face it a lot can happen in 5 weeks time, although Im not sure I can remember it all. So bear with me as I bore you with post after post after post of all the happenings!! :)

(Im backdating most of them so be sure to check out the January and February posts!)

And He’s Off…

Here is the first video I got of Caiden crawling. He got the hang of it on Jan 24th (at 6 months and 1 week old) and hasn’t looked back! Kayli thought it was lots of fun to throw toys all over the family room and make him chase after them. Right before I started this video she threw parts of his stacking star all over the room and said “Go get ‘em baby brother!” And so, he was OFF! :)
