Where my Oakey go Mom?

Goddess (my Mom) found a beautiful Yellow Lab a few weeks ago wandering the streets near the horse rescue. She brought him to our house to stay until his owner came for him. He was well groomed and taken care of and we KNEW once his owner realized he was gone, that he would be missed. His collar had his name “Oakey” and a phone number, but no address. There was no answer so we left some messages and took good care of him. Kayli became quite attached. She followed Oakey around all day, played ball with him, hugged and kissed him and even insisted that he lay in her room while she slept. She cried when Oakey left and has asked me every day since “where my Oakey go Mom” and/or “where my doggie go Mom?”, just in case I dont remember who Oakey is I guess. I cannot wait until we buy a house, then the kids can have a dog of their own, although I fear we will have to name him Oakey!

Bandwagon here I come…

The blogging bandwagon that is. I’m constantly “catching up” with other people’s lives on their blogs and its time for me to “catch you up” with our fun filled life!

I’ve never been good at keeping a journal or anything of that sort, but I figure that I spend enough time on the computer and should be able to do a more than adequate job with blogging. So here goes nothing…or everything!

Jessie and Woody!

Here are our cute Toy Story characters! Months ago I asked Kayli what she wanted to be for Halloween and she looked at me soooo puzzled. I showed her magazines and websites, but she didn’t get it, she kept telling me “No, Mom I’m Kayli”. Since she was loving the Toy Story movies at the time I decided she would be Jessie and Caiden could be either Buzz or Woody (I left that decision up to the costume designer). We went to the ward Trunk or Treat on Saturday and then Trick or Treating in the neighborhood on Friday. The ward had an unofficial block party on Friday that is just a few blocks from us so we ended the night there with a bonfire and some yummy food! Kayli had a blast and didnt want to take her costume off! It was a lot of fun to watch her figure it all out! Caiden was pretty much just along for the ride. He of course wanted nothing to do with all of the dressing and undressing, but he was pretty content for both nights! There are lots of pictures of the kids in their costumes here. THANKS for the adorable costumes Aunt Ali! :)
